OUR COVID EXPERIENCE!

                    OUR COVID EXPERIENCE!

Soo Corona Virus Has entered our home too!

My mom and brother have been tested covid +ve around 3 weeks back and both of them have recovered now!!

My family was kinda mentally prepared to face this situation as both my parents have been going out for work and seeing people nearby getting affected, we knew we had to be prepared! So, getting a positive case in the family wasn't a big shocker to us, we were not that panicky as all of us are young and active and didn't have any other comorbidities! The only thing we were worried about is my grandparents, as we met them even 1-2 days before we noticed the symptoms!!

But, thank god, the virus didn't spread to anyone in the family except my mom and brother!

How did it start?

My mom had severe cold on 12th august, as she has allergy it's very common for her to experience this. The next morning, she had temperature of around 99 F-100 F and this continued the whole day! Fever triggered our suspicion that it could be corona and thus she isolated herself! By the next day, she had dry cough too and so got tested!!

The next day, we got the results as positive!

Immediately, the other 3 members of the family got tested and my brother was tested +ve while I and my dad were -ve!!

We isolated both of them and they started the medication and all!! My brother was completely asymptomatic while my mom had fever, dry cough and weakness going on for a few more days but there was nothing serious! We guess my mom got infected first and then my brother got it!

Thankfully, as we got tested at the earliest, the virus didn't spread even in the house!! So, my dad and I were able to take care of their needs and the house!!

Situations like these make us grateful for the people around us, our life and everything we have!! A big Hearty thank you to all the near and dear ones for keeping a check on us, seeing that we are in good spirits and for sending food and essentials every day :)

We even discovered the cook in my dad during this days which wouldn't be possible  otherwise๐Ÿ˜…!I would say the one who has worked more hard during this whole period is my dad,for someone like him, doing all the household chores and managing the whole house without any help was a big suprise to us!!Anyways, thank you dad!!We have actually seen a whole new side of his and never knew he could do all that he has done!!It has also made us responsible about taking care of the house and did teach us few chores and life skills!!Personally,it has made me so much grateful for having such amazing people around who i know will be there whenever in need always, for having good health and on the whole for the life i have!:)

Days passed like that! They were both hale and healthy, enjoying the perks for being isolated!! But, yes staying inside a single room every day isn't easy and does bring negativity into our lives but we have to keep going!! We were all strong and in good spirits most of the days but yes there comes a time where negativity peeps in too and you fear that what if something serious happens!! You gotta keep yourselves occupied in other activities and not let the negative thoughts seep in deep into you!

As both of them didn't have any serious issues, thankfully, it has been easy for us to pass through this situation... seeing many people all around the world going through the worst of this, I know how bad our situation would have been too if things escalated!! Forever thankful to the almighty, for this:).

Even though being the same house, me and dad not getting +ve seemed strange to us but there is a study that says that even though you have never gotten corona, your body develops inbuilt immunity and I guess that's what happened to us too!

And on 27th august, my brother tested -ve!! While mom has been getting +ve only in 2 tests she gave while she didn't have any symptoms too and the 15 days isolation is done!! Then, we came to know that its the dead virus that resides and it cant cause any harm to the patient and neither spread so the patient can go on with a normal life and is good to go!! This is something said by the NEW ICMR GUIDELINES!(https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.mohfw.gov.in/pdf/RevisedHomeIsolationGuidelines.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjEqYPv7cfrAhXh8HMBHZ9LCbUQFjABegQIDRAH&usg=AOvVaw0a4DJr9XPu0vRI2blhGLU2)

So, It's all well now!

All I want to say to everyone out there is to BE KIND TO THE WORLD AND EVERYONE AROUND!

Don't treat someone who has corona in a very bad way!!

Stop thinking in a narrow-minded way, there is nothing wrong with them!! And if anyone you closely know has got affected, keep a check on them and see that they are in good spirits!!

We had family members around to bring food and essentials but what about those people who live alone here, away from their families? They don't have anyone around so if any colleague or friend or neighbour is in such a situation, please be there for them! Help them with essentials!! There is no harm being done to you by being kind to them!! So, please be kind and accepting!!

I don't mean to say go meet them with no social distancing etc but just help them with medicines, essentials etc and see that they stay in good spirits! Most people have developed a stigma around this which is not required!! Especially, neighbours gotta show some humanity around too! More than anyone, neighbours being kind and helpful in these times is very important. Although we haven't faced any such ugly things, I have heard from people around of how mean people treat the corona patients and their families.

The families that have already diseased and weak people, elders and very small children, they have to extra careful!! These are the one most vulnerable to face the wrath of this virus and have to be very cautious!! Otherwise, there is nothing much to get panicky!

Keeping ourselves mentally and physically strong is very very important!! Only when we are mentally strong, we will recover faster!

Prevention is always better than cure...!So keep taking necessary precautions and following the guidelines given! Despite all that, even you get affected, don't get paranoid .keep calm, isolate yourself and take proper medication!! Always keep the doctor updated about your symptoms and if things get escalated, it's better to get admitted in a hospital!

We can't keep fearing from this and locking ourselves in the house! The world has to keep moving forward and so do you!

WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER!

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

BE KIND AND BE THERE FOR ONE ANOTHER!

STAY CALM AND DONT GET PARANOID!
